Formed in Tokyo in 1984, Pizzicato Five combine J-pop with 60's chanson, lounge and disco music to sometimes bizarre collages. Happy End of the World is their most diverse record, with the repertoire ranging from laid-back loungy grooves to the psychedelic kitsch-dance inferno that is Mon Amour Tokyo.
